Japanese Movie Reviews

So I just got done watching the first ring and really enjoyed it! The Japanese are very good at making scary movies. I have watched the American version about 5 years ago and they both are pretty much the same, but I have to say I like the American one better. It seems a little more scary with the scenes around the island trip and the plot is more familiar to me, probably because its culturally relevant.

I did find a really good actor in the main male character  Asakawas husband, the professor who dies in the end. He seemed to be very intriguing and made the movie seem so real. The American version's male actor was not that convincing.

The police are so nice in Japan it seems, at least from this video. Also the role of the female main character is much more feminine. The lady was acting like a nervous wreck the whole time. American movies are used to masculine woman whom appear in control. Japanese people also seem to be split more into traditional gender roles.

Japanese people have an obsession with female demon spirits things. Ju-on is another movie that comes to mind, but there are plenty online. I am heating up some rice, beef and carrots to watch ringu 2! I will let you know what I think about it also.
